Gold Rush: Grammy Award Winners 2012

I was too busy covering the Grammys to pay close attention to the broadcast itself, but from what I saw, it seemed to be a great show. It didn’t feel cheap or chintzy, it didn’t seem to be trying too hard to push certain artists or grab viewers, and it’s hard to argue with an Adele sweep, regardless of the fact that I need a good six years before I will ever willingly hear “Rolling In The Deep” again.

Robyn deserves a goddamn Grammy by now. This Grammy season has made Bon Iver come off like a jackass. And I am of the mindset that Chris Brown does not deserve to be celebrated. But beyond that, no complaints. The Whitney Houston tributes were appropriate, there was a dance music performance, and Adele kept it real in her acceptance speeches.

While I’m sure by now everyone is well aware of the winners, I like to post this sort of thing anyway. You know, for posterity.
